Abstract
-
- Bipolar hemiarthroplasty as secondary proceduFe for femoral neck fractures was performed in seven patients between January 1985 and December 1989 and the results are as follows.
- 1. There were five male(71.4%) and two female patients(28.6%) and the average age was 30.6 years.
- 2. Avasclar necrosis of the femoral head developed in five patients and nonunion, one patient, and combined, one patient.
- 3. The average duration between primary operation and secondary bipolar hemiarthroplasty was 26.4 months(ranged from 4 to 54 months).
- 4. Except one patient, the average hospital days of six patients were 22.2 days.
- 5. Average Harris hip score was 50.7 preoperatively and 92.2 postoperatively.
